Bodhrán

My love affair with the bodhrán, the irish frame drum, began in 2007. In that year I flew to Ireland to spend a week learning from Frank Torpey in county Wexford.

Over the years I have been able - with his support - to meet and work with some of the best players in Ireland. Today, I am happy to count them among my friends. Their influence can be found in my playing.

I now teach myself, both in one-on-one lessons (also online) and in workshops.

I play bodhráns made by Norbert Eckermann.

Workshop

Usually, I offer a mixed workshop for bodhrán and tin whistle together with Thomas Blažek. Over the course of one day you can become familiar with the playing on one of the instruments or improve on it. You do not have to bring your own.

On top of the tuition the workshop features background knowledge, presentations and videos. Lunch, coffee, tea and other drinks are included.

The workshop can of course be held for the bodhrán only. Groups can have it tailored to their needs.

Should you be interested please send a mail.
